GloQuench PAS
OPTICAL BRIGHTENER QUENCHING AGENT

GLOQUENCH PAS is a cationic water-soluble polymer recommended for the efficient neutralization of the optical brightening effect of fluorescent whitening agents.

GLO-QUENCH PAS has proven to be 25% to 40% more effective than most other quenching agents available in the market today.

GLO-QUENCH PAS can be used during Paper Machine grade changes to reduce the need for machine and recirculating system cleaning, when, for example, changing from brightened whites to colored or non-brightened paper qualities..

For the production of extinguished paper from brightened waste paper, GLO-QUENCH PAS may be effectively added to waste paper furnish to neutralize the fluorescence.

GLO-QUENCH PAS is highly effective both when applied in stock or whitewater.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES

Chemical Composition Polyimidazoline salt
Appearance Amber colored, low viscosity liquid
Ionic Nature Cationic
Solubility Miscible with water in all proportions
Specific Gravity 1.10
pH: 4
CAS Number: 263745-23-9

APPLICATION
GLO-QUENCH PAS is particularly suitable for stock application at an addition rate of 0.1%-3.0% on dry fiber weight. The quantity of GLO-QUENCH PAS used is determined by both the degree of fluorescence of the stock and type of optical brightener on the fiber. Soluble tetrasulpho brighteners are more readily quenched than the less soluble disulpho brighteners.

GLO-QUENCH PAS may be effectively added to whitewater systems.

SAFETY AND TOXICITY
Good standards of housekeeping, personnel hygiene and eye protection are recommended when handling this product.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
GLO-QUENCH PAS has a minimum shelf life of 12 months under normal conditions of storage. At sub-zero temperatures some separation may occur, but this is reversible as the temperature rises. The product is supplied in standard packaging of 200kg polyethylene drums or 1,000kg EBCS.
